How I sold my bathroom cabinet
Last year I moved into a smaller flat and it quickly turned out I had lots of pieces of furniture I no longer needed. At first I put them in the basement and didn"t think much about them. But after a month or so I finally decided that I needed more space and I should try to sell the old things. Most items were bought by friends and family members. I actually gave them out for a few pounds. The only thing that was still in my basement was an old bathroom cabinet. I was going to throw it away but I looked at it more closely and thought it was actually a nice old thing. It was dark green, decorated with a kind of veneer. Unfortunately it didn"t match my new bathroom so I decided to sell it online. I visited an auction website, logged in, added some photos and estimated it to be worth £55. During the next two weeks, perhaps ten or fifteen people read my offer (I could see the statistics every time I logged in), but nobody was interested. Finally, after fifteen days, a man phoned me and asked if he could see the bathroom cabinet. I invited him to my house. He told me the cabinet was a bit destroyed so he would only give £45 for it. I promised to think it over. On the same day, I changed the price on the website from £55 to £45. The man bought the cabinet on the next day. I didn"t get as much money as I had expected but forty-five pounds are better than nothing.
